It may be a weak argument- it is also the truth. I don't think vulgar language is OK because kids use it. I don't have a horse in this race, I'm not from Eden Prarie and don't really know anyone out there right now. What I did notice is that someone kept insinuating that the coaching position is ope...

To clarify things, the shots and play were by no means close to even last year between pool A and Pool B. Pool A teams outshot Pool B teams by a wide margin. Goalie play was a big determining factor and nothing wrong with that. It happens alot, and a win is a win, but fact is, there was a big differ...

I think her name is actually Itsuki Baba. She went by Itsuki last weekend when she played for the South in Gopher State Tournament last weekend. The south won all their games, and the tournament. North team was pretty good but could not match the D1 and depth of younger talent on the South Team: Che...

Regarding rosters: Rosters will not be finalized until the night before Junior Fest begins. This is because the teams are determined by ranking of players. When someone drops out, those rankings need to be re-evenly distributed. This is the explanation I received upon inquiring whether rosters were ...

NP is more of a defensive team they give up most of the shots come from the outside, giving their strong goalie a chance, Ms. Bartelt is a very good D and gets lots of playing time does a great job clearing the net area, she will be missed next year. hockeya1a- I've seen you say shots are kept to t...

Albert Lea played well, NP wasn't moving their feet except for beginning of 3rd period. It was 1-1 until the last couple minutes when AL got a break away on a broken up soft pass across middle. NP tripped girl when she was already clear and refs correctly called penalty shot, AL scored. Brooke Barte...

Northfield Austin and Albert Lea would be a tight choice so I am deferring to the QRF rankings for those three. 1.Red Wing 2.Faribault 3.New Prague 4.Northfield 5.Austin 6.Albert Lea 7.Waseca Looks like Redwing should get the bye. First round eliminations will be too close to call between 3 vs 6 and...

While I agree its much easier to assess a goalie who is pummeled with many scoring chances, sometimes there are good goalies on good teams. I've seen these goalies play separate from Roseville team, and they are both good. It may be your opinion, and I agree that's what this forum is about, but when...

I'm with Bensonmum on this one. At first I wondered why hockeyfan21 was trying to bash Roseville's goalies as inconsistent. I figured must not know anything about goaltending in general so blames everything on goalies. Now was thinking that trying to make Morse look good, by bashing other goalies. B...

I would think Faribault should be very strong. Who did they lose? I would think their biggest gun is Megan Bergland, excellent player. Just gets better and better. New Prague: Close to same team as last year, graduated back up goalie and 1 forward off their varsity. Also junior Samantha Lijewski qui...

Alexandria Scrimmage Fest
Just commenting on the scrimmage fest in Alexandria yesterday:
St Cloud, now that they have only one team, apparently for that reason brought a LOT of girls. They may have been using it as a tryout?
One of the goalies didnt even have goalie skates on.

So most of us don't know that we aren't experiencing 'real' hockey? OK... I guess we are just too thick or conventional. We all love our kids and WE think they are special. To us. And if they are really good hockey players, other people will think so. But the above definition of a 'Star' is just sel...

I was relieved to see that the 'dictator, mass murderer' post was self edited. I am not from the east side or HM or a coach, and I don't often post, but I have read the posts and I see: A daughter that started late. parent and daughter doing everything, to constantly improve. Tenacity in parent an u...

Actually, KatoDad I was talking about teams like Waseca, Rochester Century, Mankato East LeSuer/St Peter and Winona that you played a total of 8 games with. And of the top 5 point scorers, look like you have two, but 66 of their points came off of their games with the above teams which were all blow...
