Isn't it always funny how people always hate a winner? Having said that, clearly a ton of recruiting has gone on at North. The irony is LV South used to get accused of being the recruiter in youth hockey leaving North dry. Funny how that worked out. Many of South's youth hockey recruits have long si...

Double hat trick for the senior captain tonight from Maple Grove in a 14-1 thrashing of Champlin. Scored first four goals of game in the first five minutes of the first period. State record is seven in a game and five in a period. 8) Sorry Dad, pretty sure the kid only got 5. Impressive, but not a ...

Five Nations Players from MN

"After a week of tough competition at the USA Hockey Select 16 Festival in New York, USA Hockey has selected the top non-NTDP '98-born players from that camp that will participate in the Five Nations Cup this August in Germany. A total of nine out of the 20 players selected hail from the state...

Re: Blaine vs MG

Blaine jumped out to a quick 3-0 lead which was followed by a penalty call then some after the whistle antics. Two MG players got 5 and 10 ejections and one got a 5 and 5 and 10 ejection. Blaine ended up with one player getting 4 and one getting 2 and 10. I think the refs got it right. Interesting,...

CONGRATS to O'Leary at Wayzata- Non-teacher Hockey Coaches

Congrats to Pat O'Leary and his Trojans with their big Section win over BSM. Besides O'Leary and Janne Kivihalme at Burnsville, how many other Minnesota high school teams have non-teacher coaches? In this day and age, it would seem more specialized sports like hockey and lacrosse at this level shoul...

I'd say the difference would be a youth hockey association taking action on behalf of its member, rather than a group of parents complaining. Just wondering, why wouldn't you put Prior Lake, OMG, or Edina in the West bracket? Then you'd likely have a strong one coming out of each of the 4 brackets.

Wayzata won PeeWee A in 2007 and Bantam A in 2009. There was a difference of 6 skaters and both goalies. Statistically, that is just under a 50% turnover in players.
