It seems to me that there have been a lot of changes (rules) in a short amount of time. Who is responsible for the changes? I think it's time to take a look at the folks that are running Minnesota Hockey. I think the era of volunteers running something so large has come and gone. At the very least, ...

Re: Leaving Team Midseason for tryout with USHL
If the same kid gets the flu and is out for 4 days should he be eligible for the remainder of the season when he gets well? Wow.flatontheice wrote:If a kid (captain) leaves his team mid-season for a tryout skate (4 days) in the USHL should he be eligible for remainder of season when he gets back?

What happened in LDC? I thought Brian Johnson coached that team; he is the coach-in-chief for D-5. I'm guessing it may have something to do with the 5-18 record they threw up last season and the prospect of that being the best record they would see with him as the coach. Coach-in-chief of D-5, isn'...

Hutch returns key players next year and hopefully will make a run. Had some great improvement and good coaching this year Who are the key returners? You keep talking about the great coaching and improvement. What team are you watching? Coaching is nonexistent at best and flat out horrible most days.

Yeah it's about my ego because I support an organization with decades of success, constant improvement, and whether you like it or believe it, is the model organization in the country. The organization isn't that same in all areas. What about the kids that can play at the tier 1 level and are in an...

After talking to Frank at the X tonight he has stated that woog is gone for good to. Sad to see Wow yeah it is sad to see. Any word on who would replace Woog? Most likely Darby I'm guessing. He said it will be Darby, Lapanta and a third guy I cant remember his name off the type of my head. Tom Chor...

Re: Brilliant
To short change kids to benefit a few is mind boggeling at best. Are you talking about Association or AAA hockey? Unfortunately, not everyone has the luxury of an association that is remotely functional. I don't necessarily think year-round AAA hockey is the answer, but sometimes it's good to rattl...

I agree with Night Train, your Director of Parks and Rec. sounds like a real moron, start with him. The other concern there would be who is running the youth hockey association. The leadership there is obviously asleep at the wheel. It would seem as though the bus has gone through the barricade and ...

3GW, are you saying that small area games stunt mite skaters? Backward skating is not needed playing 3-on-3 in the faceoff circle for 4 years of mite hockey?[/quote] I'll use your swimming analogy. If you fall out of a boat in the middle of the lake, but all you have ever worked on at the pool was t...

Where people lose me is when they think practice is more important than games. The only thing...I repeat...the only thing practice is good for is to help you perform better in games. This cannot be disputed. Anyone who thinks skill development is the ultimate goal does not need to ever join a team.....

Easy now. I'm not saying the way it was explained to me is gospel and I've not seen it written down anywhere as to what the intent really is. It would be nice if someone in the inner circle could shed some light on it. I also don't know who was invited and who wasn't invited, why they chose to be &q...

Once again, these things spin so far from the original topic. As I understood it, the supposed alliance is an attempt to improve the quality of AAA hockey in the state by pulling some of the top non-Minnesota talent to the metro tournaments. The goal was to get some of the top Canadian teams (Calgar...

By Hal Tearse Minnesota Hockey Coach-in-Chief, I'm sure he doesn't speak for everyone. I'm also aware of the fact that Mr. Tearse has done many good things for youth hockey....
