In Minnesota our choice is Fryburger followed by Cloquet. The coldest though was a place called Pershing Field in Jersey City NJ. The wind has about 40 miles of the Hudson River to work its way down getting funnelled between the skyscrapers in NYC and Jersey City. We actually called a timeout took t...

Are these players allowed to
Quit and come back to High School level if they choose or it doesn't work out wherever they are?
So much for community hockey musings in the posts below. Let the kids play where they want to. Once they get high enough most leave and do so anyways.

That's a tough deal for ML. A new arena with small to mid size seating locker rooms ect is at least $2.5-3.0 M Hopefully they can save the compressors and other equipment. From what I have heard the thing now is to run with the insurance money if any and redo. The cost of freon for most of these ri...

1. If you don't play at the top level those players will either not play for you or they will move to an organization that can provide the talent level. 2. There are hidden gems out there who can play but don't have all the fancy letters behind them, or come from organizations that lack something fo...

I know we live in a time of What can you do for me, and not what can I do for you, but try not to throw communities under the bus for offering activities for the kids in their community We used to live in another state. It seemed funny our community every year in the spring and summer had roller ho...

Jaremko made it.
No Jake Jeremko or Mitch Reinke?? Jeremko was the best player on Section 7, made it to national camp last year... And Reinke is a very crafty defenseman. Other wise, pretty good job. I could swear Blue 8 is Jacob Jaremko.... http://assets.ngin.com/attachments/document/0027/1355/2012_Final_54_Roster...

They were saying tonight during one of the Playoff Games that Johnson had already informed that they were not going to have a team next year due to no players or very little. As they said it I wondered how many kids would have played if there wasn't a limit on where you lived or went to school at th...

Every organization has their whiners and complainers. They think that the board is some secret cabal with nefarious intentions to promote their own children over non-board member's kids. I would suggest to them to join the board to see just how wrong they are, and how much work goes into running an ...

We were fortunate enough to take in some skating lessons with three of the Russians from the 1980 Olympic team. They skated the crap out of kids and did a great job. Having said that the teams those three coaches coached usually were in the 10 to 15 percent range of winning games. We could never und...

I am curious how many teams won't have goalies as there is very little contact for the most part at that position, and if each team takes two goalies there could be a lot of girl goalies sharing time on the youth level. Hell If I had a daughter that played goalie I would try and get her interested ...

Recruiting lots of 5 and 6 year olds, both boys and girls, is the only way to grow your association. 12 year olds don't fall from trees and even if you could find a few late starters it's very difficult for them to catch up to the ones that started when they were 5. I get what your saying and to a ...

Centennial won U12A and came in second at U14A. Apparently their U10A team also won their district. If anybody has a run in the future in HS that might be dominating, maybe it would be them. But they've always had very good youth teams and don't quite match the success at the Varsity level. One of ...

Re: Playing with the boys
Good off-season topic. Wondering what forum readers think, one way or the other: Today it is rare for girls to have to play on boys’ teams. I think maybe for Minnesota girls her information is correct. I however know of other states where there may only be a single or maybe two girls 12U teams in t...
