Re: Impressive year for the Machine program
After seeing the results in the Caribou Cup, I thought I would go back through the season and see how the Machine teams faired at certain tournaments. yes....I am bored. 1999 Machine Chi Town Shuffle Won 3-0 over the Blades Stars Stripes Lost 7-1 to Bauer Selects Subway Classic Lost 3-1 to Vancouve...

Re: Attitude
[quote="C-dad"]So, my wife and son were flying today for spring break. My kid is wearing his Edina jacket and hat. A family from OMG is sitting behind them on their first leg into Detroit. Turns out a kid in this family plays for the OMG PWA team. My kid mentions a couple of his friends pl...

Congrats to Giant Killers STMA PeeWee Bs! Regional wins vs. Wayzata, Edina and Wayzata along with a loss to Wayazata to qualify for #2 seed to State. Big doings for STMA - 1st boys team ever to make it to the big dance. Congrats boys! Easy on the 'giant killers' comment. Wayzata Navy was a decent t...

Technically....Wayzata Gold lost and therefore will drop out of the Top 10 for rankings. So that leaves just two Wayzata teams in the top ten. Also Wayzata Navy just cracked the top 10 and are very lucky to still be playing considering they won two games in districts in OT against teams they should...

In the very near future as the reputation grows kids will be staying with MM longer. Right now there of course is attrition. Kids who have strong associations leave more often and kids who have weak associations stay more often. Eventually though, people will pay extra to not have to deal with asso...

If you look at the 95`s and 96`s you see playing now, they are usually the best on the ice and have alot of opportunities because of the developement they recieved when playing for the machine. Alot of parents see this and understand that The Brick is a great tourney but the bigger picture has alot...

I am a Machine 01 parent. We did have a team meeting and this was one of the topics brought up. We are all onboard with the decision not to participate in the Brick tournament. So now you know if you didn’t already. I will not go into details or reasoning, but I’m sure you can think of some on your...

I've actually witnessed #4 happen on more than one occassion. It's not paranoia, it does and will happen, especially at the squirt-peewee level. Honestly? Can you elaborate? What did they change in the process and who did it help? Why is it more prevalent at squirts and peewees and less so at Banta...

After reading through this entire subject, I am so glad that none of you crazy, over reactive, unrealistic people did not raise me, because I may not have been pushed to grow up as a kid, not a super athlete (even with a highschool, junior and college hockey career behind me) and perhaps would not ...

In order for tryouts to be tainted by politics you need several things to happen. 1st you need the tryout evaluators on board... all of them. You need them to keep it quiet. Then you need the board on board, all of them, and they need to keep it quiet. All of these folks need to be on the same page...

I would love to hear from 01 Machine families, but I heard the letter and a parent meeting has already taken place regarding this issue with BM stating they can go ahead and tryout, but will not be invited back to their respective Machine teams. Love to hear if I got the facts wrong That would be b...

Be careful what you ask for . . . If the District 6 rule withstands legal scrutiny and Minnesota Hockey rolls out the rule to cover all districts in the state and forces people to choose between association hockey and private teams, my bet is association hockey will lose many of its best players--a...

I'm going to play devils advocate here. You guys say that as a parent I DO have a choice, play one or the other. Well my choice is I want my kid to play both association and Choice. Right, wrong, or indifferent, I choose to play both. D6's rule doesn't allow me to do that. That is a fact! I want my...

I recall reading numerous posts over the years stating that the Brick team should be opened up to all Minnesota players. Assuming the Blades are up front and honest about picking the best players regardless of which AAA team they skate for during the summer, this apears to be a great development. I...

Then the Hornets got a lucky marginal tripping call (Irish player lifted a Hornet’s stick of the ice to gain control of the puck and the Hornet fell) and a strange play where a penalty was called when an Irish forward handed the goalie his stick after he had lost it. quote] The rule book states tha...

GreatOne - I was breaking down your 170 hrs of Blades ice time and its not really adding up. You can really only count 2 weeks for March because association hockey goes through mid March. You have April - June and August and I come up with about 19 weeks. 170 hrs divided by 19 weeks is almost 9 hrs...
