Re: Congrats
Congrats to Moorhead. I hope the Spuds can beat Hill Murray tomorrow. After this game, I'm reminded how great it is that Roseau won't have to face Bitzer anymore. He is one very good goalie. MOST GOOD COACHES PLAY THEIR BEST GOALIE AT PLAYOFFS EXCEPTION BEING THAT DANDY AT GRAND RAPIDS  ...

Re: Kicking the puck into the net
If they allowed kicking the puck into the net, the goal crease would have to be about double the size because everyone would just try and deflect it off a skate. This is hockey, not soccer. The object of the game is to shoot the puck into the goal with a stick if that was already clearly obvious. T...

I'm sure the Rapid faithful feel they have a lot of talent, but non bias people see average hs talent and this is reflected by their record. Two state runnerups are pretty good. Where did Trent Klatt go? This group was in the state title game as pee wees and bantams. I think Rapids fans had every r...

Wayzata has a very strong football tradition during the 2000's and this hurts their hockey program in some ways. Some good hockey players have tried to play both hockey and football which in turn hurts their hockey development somewhat. The student body gets more excited about the football games as...

This might be a late call...but Rapids just topped my list Fire Laroque already my god! He thinks he is god's gift to coaching because he had 2 state runner ups...he better be kissing Pat White's feet right now cause they had no chance without him. Talented squads every year that just seem to under...
While I understand the sentiment (and the logic), I have to ask, what's more important when it comes to awarding seeds...what happens on the ice, or what happens in the stands? I think that a few too many people up North prefer a North vs North section final because it's the only way that yo...

IMO - Not sure the new rules will help GR, they've always had success when their physicality disrupts the flow of the other team. That's been their formula for success against East in the last few years. Now that physicality comes with higher risk, I don't think it'll be advantageous for them. The ...

Re: Last chance for the North?
Global warming would be devastating to northern hockey, with the exception of probably Roseau… Duluth and Hermantown’s amature programs would evaporate! lol Global warming with definitely hurt the Roseau area....I mean the major job supplier for the is Polaris lol 8) Global Warming (bs) hasn't affe...

please tell me who gr has beat that is so good, er beat gr earlier and yes your star wasn't out there, so should this game not count because of that. head to head games should make a difference, er and other fans should take sos into consideration also, looks like gr had a tough time with that clas...
Grand Rapids has added some Greenway kids over the years Who? Jon Casey is like the only one who did anything. I think Underwood of this years team may have originally been from Greenway. Grand Rapids/Greenway situation is completely different from the rest of these examples. They are like 5...

Slyer obviously has something against the good ol' halloween machine. Facts don't lie, whether AA or A teams they play, look at the strength of schedule. Currently 16th out of every team in the state, both AA and A. 4 of the 5 losses were to two top 5 AA teams (DE was #1 at the time), #1 ranked A te...

I think it is still the traditional coaches have a meeting and rank. Dumb, very dumb. But I understand why they do it with some section teams playing different number of games and such. Wish they would get rid of conferences and force each Section team to play each other twice and do it on points al...

That tiered effect makes sense. Remember these are kids out there playing and have a wide range of skills and reaction time. Major injuries although terrible are extremely rare (and much less than in other contact sports, football, etc). Accidents happen regardless of the rules, luckily hockey has a...

I have golfed at Pokegama Golf Course and that model did look like the view from the clubhouse. Would be a great spot for a few rinks, although out in front of Zorbaz would make more sense for parking, vendors, etc. GR vs Eagan/Burnsville/Maple Grove and Cloquet/Brainerd vs Eagan/Burnsville/Maple Gr...
