Congrats to GR!! Great tournament. Evident that the kids were coached well in the win against EP and tonight. Evident that the kids love the coaches as well. Hats off to the staff to carry three goalies - Coaches totally understand the work and the sacrifice a goalie makes for the team. Well done.

Good point Deadly.....just looking through game sheets - you see some of the names more often some goal scorers graduated. Would be fun to compare goals per game this year versus last year.

Agreed. Some goalies are out there bringing it every night. Good D corp for some teams - though it seems that the quality of shooters that can snipe has gone down since last year.

Puck Daddy Your response calling Smith a glorified cheerleader is insulting to anyone who's ever coached the game and you should be embarrassed for making such a stupid comment I don't have the time nor the energy to explain to someone like yourself on what goes on behind the scenes with coaching a...

YIPH, We will probably agree to disagree. "Huge" means EP vs Waconia in skill. Edge means one team is better than other. I will agree EP's offense has an edge over HF's (CM). I've seen HF play good AA teams (top teams--Edina, L North) and have seen how many scoring chances they are gettin...

GR up 3-0 after dman Anderson buries a nice feed from dman Heitkamp. There's a little bit of secondary scoring for them. I don't know if Mittelstadt is off; he's had some fine flashes. I do think the Eagles as a whole look awfully individualistic, though. Much like last season, they just don't seem...

18 skaters 2 goalies = 20. Kept 23 skaters so 5 sit. 41 skaters between 2 teams can only dress 18 per team on a night. Simple math 5 sit. I wonder if they will have to wear suits in the press box. If you would have stayed at AV, the school district you live in, you wouldn't have to complain about L...

Think Connor Luther is playing JR for River Falls Renegades. I agree that team chemistry is key to keeping an even keel and making a run. Looks like an old Edina retread showed up and "won" a spot on EP varsity. Dietrich didn't he play Edina bantam AA and the. Bolt to greener pastures at B...

I have heard not so good things about his play last year. Can't believe he beat out a goalie in the system. But then again I don't think the EP staff handles goalies well. You can just look back to last year. What are they thinking?

Now that Rosters are coming out - any surprises?

See that there is some discussion about Edina and those that did not make the team. Lots of good players staying away from HS and still with their Jr teams......

Been scanning the MSHL this morning. Seems that EP has dropped a senior goalie. Anyone have any data on Dietrich - wasn't he at Blake?

Surprising to not see Luther on the squad. Thought he would make it.

On the transfer rule - if one is going to a private school do they need to provide financial hardship proof even if transferring to any public school?

Great review Karl. Section 2AA will be tough and it will most definitely be an interesting post season. To be successful EP must find a way to control emotion and channel that. I agree that the two senior goaltenders will work much better to make the team more cohesive on the ice and in the locker r...

Not the only association going through that.....

Sad to see kids who work all through school to play their Jr or Sr year and are never get the chance. Kids, when shown faith by those coaches, would bust down walls to play for them. Coaches may be surprised by what they have in some of those kids.

Tut. Did you see the EP GR game? EP's downfall was not goaltending. EP had a bunch of kids missing due to other camps and Elite Legaue tryouts. GR Had all their big guns. EP Was very very undisciplined. I bet they did not skate with five guys on the ice for more than 6 minutes the entire scrimmage. ...

Mr hockey - EP does have some good goalies in the mix. BA is good but he has at least two kids in front of him.

It will be interesting to see what happens at EP and Edina this year.

Interesting observation. I agree that the EP JV goalie should have been on D League. From the rosters that came out - it seems overly political to me. From an outsider looking in..........

Players came off the bench to celebrate. There were more like 7 or 8 in the corner. It was part of the next line coming out for the face off.
I think the refs met to determine if the net came off before the puck crossed the line. Puck did cross the line before the goalie knockec the net off.
