I feel very sorry for the coach. By the time players are seniors he has spent about 5 years helping to develop these kids. It is not very often that a group comes along that can make a run at getting to state. There was chance for this group to hang with Breck. It maybe another 10 to 20 years before...

If your son was born before 7/1/1996. He can not play bantams (July 1st is the cut off in Minnesota). He can play HS, U16 or Junior Gold. H.S will have captain’s practice before tryouts. C.P normally starts late Oct. Tryouts are mid Nov. You can get info from the H.S. about registration. U16 and Jun...

Hickey is a little banged up, from what I heard he should be back soon. He joined St Thomas mid season last year and looked very good. I was at some of those MIAC games over the weekend. Lots of nice players up there. Tommies, Hamlin and Gustavis looked a little better than the others. There are a f...

HFs coaching has been decent. They just haven't recruted many top level skaters (I know they have tried). Most of the kids are from EP and Chaska and a few from Orono, Mound, Delano. Last years split with Waconia set them back, they had made some improvement prior to that. I agree that they are in a...

Breck - will be a better team than last season. Blake - will be down from last year (It may be a few years before they have a decent team) Orono - will have one of their weakest teams in many years Delano - will have one of their stonger teams a long time Mound - returns most of their team and shoul...

Nice game for Mound, especially their 1st line, Swanson played well in the net. Mounds D didn't let Orono get it going. Persian had a nice game, he is a quality player. Gabos did not have one of his better games, but I will say he has improved since last year and he had some quality games this seaso...

2A playoffs have been fantastic. But I’m wondering what others think about Parade arena. Ice is soft, do they ever run the edger. Boards are awful, locker rooms are hot, the concession stand is terrible and parking is lousy. The rink has really gone down hill. They need to get the place cleaned up o...

With the two splitting it's almost like staring from square one. I see a decent rivelry in the future between these teams. I'm pretty sure they didn't care much for each other when they played togather ! Both teams have won some games (which ain't bad for new teams) I think Waconia's senior goalie i...

Willett coached two of my kids while he was at Mound and he did a fantastic job. Things were going down-hill in Westonka when he showed up and it is now a respected program. I know he was pretty excited to coach a Junior team, and he put in a lot of hard work with the Thunder. He moved his family (w...

Riley went to school with out crutches for the 1st time today. He’s still kind of sore, but it’s getting better. The surgeon in Duluth had originally said it would be early March before he could skate. The doctor at his last visit was more optimistic but didn’t say anything for sure. He has another ...

Mound does have quite a few kids that are dinged up. I think they have 4 or 5 kids out with various injuries, plus several that are playing hurt. Even with all that they have two strong lines, defense is in decent shape and good goaltending. Mound 4 Hopkins 2

We got home ~6:00 on Sunday morning, so Sunday was a rest up day for everybody. The surgeon at St. Mary’s was a super nice guy that has patched u...

Bryant is sore, stiff neck and some numbness on one side. No penalnty called on this one! He will probably be out for about a week. Tuff w...

One of the best games I've seen in a long time!!! Refs pretty much let the kids play. Good hits, fast pace, both goalies played well. Crowd was really into it. Fans went nuts on the game winner!
