Great tournament so far! It's been wonderful being able to watch all of these teams compete. It is interesting how in an environment like this tournament you start to realize how many people you and your kids have met and become friends with. Watching kids from opposite teams who are friends stoppi...

There are six dominant teams, two tweeners, and the bottom four. CINB has for the most part improved big against the dominant and tweener teams the second time around. Against the other bottom four they have.... Beaten SLP the second time around, Outplayed and should have beaten Champlin Park the s...

Re: checker
Hip-I don't necessarily agree with your assessment that single team practices are a waste of time. I say this because I've been part of associations that ONLY use shared ice slots and the result is a team that cannot carry the puck through the neutral zone and one that can't get up and down the ice...

Re: GB Jr Gamblers at Spirit of Duluth
My son plays on the 96 Jr Gambler team that won the tournament. This team is a talented team with good coaching. They have the highest ranking of all of the Jr. Gambler teams. This same group of kids (under a different team name) comes to MN to play in the MN AAA Meltdown and the Easton Cup. We cam...

Not sure if they are in it, but Wayzata would be tough to beat. Can't beat their depth.

Just to re-hash what someone else said about Wayzata..They are the numbero UNO PWA team in the state, by far, as of right now. I was extremely impressed by them. I would go so far to say that they are the best PWA team I have seen in 2 years. And I am a EP guy! Very nice group of parents too... Dit...

Speaking of Big - how about that little dude from WBL - kid plays big and he is fun to watch. Plays with energy and great hands, but man I wouldn't want to be around when he takes a big hit - OUCH!![/quote]MaxSnatch wrote:They are BIG (and, obviously, pretty good).

So who's memories anyway? Yours or the childs? If it is about development, that is just not going to help the young player get there. And that is a fact, and the experts will all agree. If it is about parents living their dreams through the lives of thier children, then keep writing the checks.[/quo...

This discussion of a summer AAA league is plain silly. It doesn't matter to the development of these kids. Yes - play some hockey -and play lots of baseball, lacross, and go fishing with your grandpa. Because the AAA team and league you play on is not going to make any difference if you get a colleg...

If you look some of the choice mites moved on to the 98 fire team and I would bet after winning in detroit this weekend people will see that mm has done a great job With a good portion of the kids on the 98 Fire team it is pure talent at this age and not MN made that is making a winning team.
