Moorhead's played all their lines consistently through the tournament, and have had success doing this. They seem to be the fresher team as the game wears on. I haven't noticed EP wearing down at all though in any of their games, so I think Marks will have to make alot of saves in this one for them...

Hey, STXNPUSS, I was talking about the medal ceremony between this year and a few years ago. I missed the "absolutely intentional headshhot". But if you say it happened I'm sure it did. Nice......Someone makes a comment and you come out with 2 year old name calling. I know exactly what yo...

Good luck to the Spuds at state. You gotta root for whichever 8AA team gets down there. On another note, being a Roseau fan, I was very pleased to see how the team reacted at the medal ceremony - not throwing medals against the boards and the coaches stuck around til it was done. Little more class ...

I agree, but i don't think the sheep will score 3 on moorhead.

Agreed. Not only will the lose the first game put the second game at State as well. It will make for an early trip back to the northwoods! Its going to be a disapointing tourney for the outstate teams as I see an All Metro championship in both Classes. I have to disagree with the suggestion that th...

This is great news. However with quotes like this: RECAP: The MSHSL board of directors took no action this morning. This was a special meeting, called to make decisions on ways to cut costs and save some of the ever-shrinking dollars for school districts. But decisions were put off at least until th...

LPH's Wally Shaver has an article this week on the reduction of games. Sounds like this is far from a done deal. http://www.letsplayhockey.com/977shaver.html I agree, however it still won't hurt to contact these individuals and let your voice be heard. The more people that openly express their opin...

Is this game at the Natl Hockey Center, the big ice in St Cloud? Was the last game at the MAC or NHC? Tech's home arena is the NHC so that would be my guess. EDIT And yes, this game is at the NHC. Supposed to be at NHC. Unless Oliver gets his way  Not sure how this works though as it is su...

moorhead can't afford to look past them. i think this game will be closer than expected. If tech plays good D.

This will probably be a closer game than most expect.

Or you could look at it from this point. If the 3rd period was 17:00 minutes long instead of 17:40 then the penalty with :21 remaining would never have occured. Which means the 2nd penalty with :01 remaining would never have occured, which means it would have been 5 on 5 hockey for the O/T. If you ...

How sad, in our sport we pay for the fields to be built. We follow that by renting the fields we built by the hour for inflated prices. Does this happen in football, basketball or lacrosse? On top of that, we have our kids and parents go out and do fund raisers. A couple hundred dollar athletic fee...

MSHSL to vote on budget cuts

I am not sure if this has already been discussed here but there is currently a motion underway at the MSHSL to possibly cut the HS Hockey schedule by up to 5 games due to on going budget cuts across the state. There has to be another way. 5 games is huge considering they only play a 24 game schedule...

Although people may complain that the spuds got two penalties in the last minute of the third, one of them actually saved the game for them because on one herbert was basically on a break away towards the goalie and had he not been hacked down i'm about 90 percent sure he would have buried it and n...

Nothing is wrong with "pay for play",.....in fact the overwhelming majority of HS athletes (actually their parents) have been doing it since age 5 in youth sports. And it is what Brainerd will do. They will raise the money, or each pay their own way. If sports are dropped, the athletes wi...
