I know the answer to this
#1. BSM has a jr high 7-8th and all 7-12 ths there can try out for any HS sport. In addition...if you go to a classified K-8 Feeder school, BSM has the list, and they are all private catholic K-8 schools...you are also eligible. Living in Bloomington (or St. Louis Park for that matter) and going to ...

2AA
Chaska lost 4 seniors, 1 JR. 3 to T-breds and 2 to coaching fallouts, possibly more. Then next year the school splits, dividing the talent further.

Insane parents
Parents spending too much time and $$$ on kids sports has really gotten over the top. Girls hockey is not the only sport out there with this problem. Kids can only play ONE sport now it seems, or they can't compete at a highenough level to satisfy their parents or the prospect of a D1 scholarship. T...

T-Breds
Well, CHS is not being smart with how they are handeling the school split. (for 2009 when Chan HS opens) MANY MANY great players are either bolting on their own, or being openly recruited for other teams...NOT just girls hockey, every sport! ...kids are panicking. With the talent split in 1/2 and ST...

Final list?
Will someone be posting the list of girls who made this team? When will the roster be posted? I think it is great kids have choices. Sometimes they DON'T want to go to a different school to be on a better hockey team, which is what many girls do...(change schools) this way they can play at a higher ...

Big red has no clue what D1 talent is!! OK...lets see if the following girls do play D1 from CHS... JRS Sam and Tam Meuweissen Sophs Catie Ladner and Dani Williams Freshman Leah Johnson I bet they all make it! I don't know anything about D1, but I bet my predictions are accurate here. Only time wil...

coaching
They really lost an excellent coaching staff when Andy Brink and Bob went to the boys side this season, it really hurt the girls. THAT was a good coaching staff! They have had 3 coaching changes in 4 years, not good for any team. They have a pile of talent, and the JR/SO/FR class has some D1 materia...

Re: what would you do
No where was the coach blamed. (Other than suggesting they keep 2 goalies warm, which is common sence) I just said sometimes it isn't worth it and you have to know when to hang it up. There is more to life than Hockey for 99% of these kids! The 1-10% who get full ride D1's and Olympic opps...are the...

Not always. Say a team has 4 goalies. 2 V 2 JV. The back-up V goalie doesn't play AT ALL the entire season. Think it doesn't happen? Well, I guarantee it does. The girl finally complains, they give her 1-2 JV games total, the 2 JV goalies throw a fit because they had do sit out also, and it is not a...

what would you do?
Sometimes it is tough to accept. My goalie played V last year as a Soph and never played this year as a JR, Fresh played. After 14 games of sitting, (had to suit up and ride the V bench every game) and playing some JV (not challenging, split games with other JV Goalie) and spending 5-6 hrs of her ti...

Phasing out JV makes no sence at all. Not everyone has the $$$ to keep playing youth hockey. Some kids just play for fun, some kids play on both JV/V for extra play/ice time. JV kids get practices after school, and bussed everywhere. Not every 10-12th grader is good enough, or numbers support them p...

great goalies
Add Brie from PL to the list. She had 49 shots on goal VS Chaska first game of the season and Chaska completely dominated the game. PL won 4-1.

Re: EP vs Eagan
Previous Quote: "Very good predictions; I generally agree although I favor Burnsville ahead of Eastview, LVS who has better balance ahead of LVN, and Jefferson to move ahead of Chaska unless they can shore up their goaltending." Chaska just beat Jefferson 8-3 so where do you get that state...

scores disparity change how we divide sections
One of the biggest factor in Girls quitting sports is unequality between teams. It is embarrassing to lose 17-0. It simply isn't fun for the winner or the loser when the score is 17-0. There is no reason for this! The way the MSHSL divides AA, A and conferences needs to be completely overhauled for ...

8th graders
Chaska had 6 8th graders (on JV/V) last year including one who is an elite player, they have also had one player, Catie Ladner on V since 7th grade, she is a 10th grader now. We have had so many coaching changes that the (individual coaching preferences) rules change, but I know they are highly enco...

Lakeville South doesn't have a JV, they are Co-oping with Lakeville N for JV. When two schools are in the SAME school district and just growing, it is far easier to get approval if you can prove you can't field a team. In wrestling in grade currently 7-10 (11-12 will not be there when the school ope...

Given that the MSHSL allows student athletes in grades 7-12 eligible for varsity sports. Does anyone know of anyone who (from these larger schools like Edina, Wayzata, White Bear, etc.) who made a successful challenge to this policy of not letting underclassman participate? If so, what was their ap...

Which HS teams will go from a poor season last year to a significantly better one this year (and why?)... I will start... Chaska, too young last year, a total of 2 seniors and 2 jrs last year. 10 sophs and 10 freshmen (2 freshmen made all-conference) They graduated only 2 girls and the bulk of the l...
