I think I need to add my $.02 about AHA, some have probably been waiting.
All the conference teams are tired of AHA beating them by 6 - 10 goals over the last ten years. I would be too. Some of the goalies who are seniors have been that way for the last four years. Let's face it, most of the conference teams would do most anything to beat AHA, the goalies have been playing them pretty tough. Even some of the parents have said that the goalies have never played this good.
I give the conference teams a a lot of credit for "getting charged up" to play AHA. This will help AHA in the long run. Most people on this board only see the scores and not the way teams play them.
I am hoping that AHA gets the 2 seed, but in my opinion they will get 3 or 4. So what, you have to win three games in the section to move on, everyone does. I still think they will step up their game and win the section. But they will need to play either Chanhassen or Shakopee first, and that will be tough.

We will see......see you all in a week

I would guess that when Holy Angels, or Hill, plays a close conference game they are mixing up lines, playing back up goalie, etc. Yes, they had a bad loss recently, but so did a (top) team they played recently.

My opinion is that they started slow, had a couple things to sort out, got them sorted out, showed they can play by beating a top 3 team and playing others close. Oh well.
You won't ever find me holding a team back in the rankings because they run up scores. That's an ethical issue that has absolutely no bearing on rankings. (Past a certain number of goals, I just stop caring about the score.) Your use of "people" there is very broad.

If they were only beating conference opponents by 5 goals instead of 10, I'd buy the "just messing with lines and such" argument. And when a team's game with Chanhassen goes to OT, I doubt they're messing around with lines by the end. If AHA were really a dominant force, they'd be winning these games without any worry. Period. It's not that the scores are a little closer than usual; many of the games' final scores are actually in doubt.

If we look at the scores from AHA's first meetings with Missota teams and compare them to the second meetings, they do not suggest they have "sorted things out." Instead, there's a lot of consistency, and very similar scores between the two rounds.

I think it's odd to say the #1 team can be the #1 team while losing to the #7 and #10 teams in the first 3 games, but say a team can't be top 15 because of first 3 game losses, despite the wins and close losses they do have. Oh well, we can continue to agree to disagree \:D/
I agree with this that BSM should be one spot higher than tonka since they had beaten them. However I can see where you stand as tonka has tied Ep and murdered wayzata. HM should be 2 at best also. I mean EP has done a lot better this year, losing to better teams and also beating HM, but that edina loss makes me question them, but as one goes in depth, this year is just way to ridiculous to even try and rank a team, so props to you karl on another fantastic job :D

EP has lost to Edina twice this season. 12/18 (3-2) and 02/03 (3-0)

EP and Edina meet for the third time this Saturday (02/19) at Edina.

Nope. I have East 3 spots above GR because they basically play a single A schedule. And I used a little mixture of PAGESTAT in my rankings.

You're welcome.

And it will be tough to get the sweep against EP; taking into account Everson will not be playing.

Regardless, it will be a great game.

Agree. But just like last time it will depend on how the goalies play with Girard coming out on top and ford playing good but not perfect. Everson out will put a lot more on Girard and Rau will hopefully capitalize on this.
