Top 8 teams should play. Litch did not deserve to play in State after they had a pretty mediocre year. They got last in the wright county conference. If the point of state is to find the best team in the state, it is probably best to put the top 8 together. Crappy team in a crappy section shouldn't ...

Worst Tourney in a long while?

I heard on KFAN the other day that some people thought this years tourney was one of the worst ones to date. The "A" tourney wasn't that great with St. Thomas dominating and the "AA" wasn't to good either with the only good game being Edina and BSM. Post your thoughts.

I think everyone except for STA themselves wants the Cadets in AA. Sure they haven't been a contender for very long (first tourney in 1999?). However if they don't opt up after next year I am sure everyone in A will be a little annoyed. Sure they are losing some kids but the cost of a good high scho...

Agreed ESPN shows too much basketball and baseball. However, to say that they should broadcast the State Tourney on ESPN is a bit ridiculous. They had to put some of the NHL PLAYOFFS on that stupid Versus network that only some people can watch. I think getting the NHL on ESPN regularly would have t...

Not a fan of Lourdes or Cathedrals jerseys. Plus i think cathedral has had some bad ones recently. Last year or two years ago (not sure which) their home jerseys were bright highlighter yellow color. Just obnoxious to look at. At least they get new ones pretty often at a private school.

As far as LF goes Ben Hanowski could have gone this year to Ann Arbor and didn't so there is a solid chance he wouldn't go.

As far as STA this is the crucial time for them. Gotta get those recruits transferred quick so they can play hockey for them.

As a former Orono player, I say go breck.
I personally don't want to see Brad Ryan back at state.
Hate that guy!
Go breck. B.R. sucks!

No offense guys but whoever wins won't go too deep in the tourney. This is a very weak section. Litchfield??? New Ulm??? Come on now. Litch's wins over mound was when mound played their backup. No matter who wins they will go two and out at the state tourney.

I don't see why everyone thinks mound is so much better than orono. Both goalies were sieves. Look at the winning goal. Kind of a crap goal. Plus like it or not the refs definately had a bigger effect on the outcome of the game than they should have. The called off goals happened and the game is ove...

This game like the rest of the section is a toss up. Could go either way. I already predicted the STMA win (See page about section 2A) and I think I am gonna go for another upset. I think a OT game would be nuts with all the fans that will be there. Oh Billy!

Hey I just wanted to say that I'm sorry that I messed up on my prediction. I should've known it would be a higher scoring game. I think the Knights are my new favorite team. I think they could match up well with Breck.

Keep in mind that winger is a girl. But then her position makes even less sense because in girls hockey they can't even get the puck to other end for empty netter. In girls hockey I'd pull the goalie everytime I got the puck in the offensive zone.

Now winger, Keep in mind now that Delano for a #7 seed is quite strong. Just ask fivehole. As fivehole said any given night there can be an upset. However I have a hard time believing that night will be when Delano plays breck. Besides STMA for a #10 seed is totally capable of an upset. To quote Ang...

mnpuckfan I don't quite see your logic here. Because Wilson probbly won't be the tender you don't see Orono scoring a lot? He is the goalie. If anything it means Orono will have to show more offense. Without a solid tender Orono has to come ready to play and hope that Johnny "Club Sandwich"...

Orono will pullit together to take Mound. I say 6-4 Orono with an EN in a heated fast paced game. Lots of people in the stands for this rivalry.

Well said. If Barnum buries Orono takes it no prob. Same with Chris Hanson. This kid has the most chances out of everyone. Persian has a lot too but that kid doesn't pass.
