Are these the facts you were looking for Rockhead: In the final two games for Austin Outshot 84-26 Outscored 21-2 If Breck hadn't been classy and taken the third period "off" the numbers would have been even more lopsided. Not a good showing for Austin or their section. We will never know...

Re: Heathers Real Status

Heather Horgen is my sister and this is the real status update. She has 4 compression fractures in Vertebrates T2-T5 and also has hairline fractures in C5 and C7 in her neck. She has a full spine brace including her neck for the next 6-8 weeks. At this time she will make a full recovery in 2 months...

It's semi-final games like this that hurt the legitamacy of the girls state (particularly 1a) tournament. These are NOT the best 8 teams in the state. Each team in this tournament took, essentially, a different route to get to the X. Take a look a the scores in 2A. Pretty evenly matched. Take a loo...

A good start would be to cross seed after section semi's. At least a good section could get two representatives. Weak sections from the south could then watch on TV like Crookston and Warroad did this year. Were you around for 2007? The weak team "Austin" (24-3) lost to Farmington (21-5-1...

This is so much fun. You start a thread and put just a little bit of ALEX in it, and it turns into a complete ALEX thread. By the way, Alex was lucky the past 5 years to have such a difficult section. hint....I am being sarcastic. Man I love Alex fans.......they are better than 1A psychopath...

just wanted to congratulate the pack on a good show at the state tourney. taking names is right, they did lose to two teams, and pretty badly. but considering they lost 8 of us last season and came back to take a second section title and place higher in the state tournament.. all i can say is excel...

everyone already knows that austin lost big time against breck. And then lost again. But congrats to austin on a good season. At least they made it to state when no one expected them too. Sure proved everyone wrong. Breck should be in AA. They are a private school (over $20,000 a year for tuition),...

Re: Breck ove Austin

Breck 6-1 Austin will find out what it is like to play a real big city team. I have seen both play and it will be no match. This will tell if TJ is the real deal. I hope she does well. Austin played the Big City team Breck last year. Maybe you were busy???? Austin plays the Big City teams from Roch...

I am picking Roseau, -- the better team and the better story. look at who they will have to beat to become state champs. # 7 Crookston # 6 New Prague # 4 Warroad # 3 Alexandria # 1 Breck or Hibbing or Austin <<--- could be easiest game for them. Oh yeah Austin is easy..just ask Marshall...Sure hope...

Re: At state

They play Marshall, I believe, and should win handily. Then, it'll be Breck, who beat Blake to go to state. (Yikes.) I wouldn't say that Austin will win handily. In my opinion, the two teams are evenly matched. The winner, however, might get taught a lesson or two by breck haha. To be honest, GOCAR...

I would add Rose Alleva from Red Wing to your list. Just a 10th grader and already an excellent player! I agree..this girl can fly and puck handle. How about the Mayo girls? Mary Flesher and Stevie Fiek? There are lots of great players in southern Minnesota. This is kind of fun. Too bad there isn't...

Gocards, Austin is a young team, that lost 8 good seniors last year. They have developed over the season like a small community, outstate team should. Could they beat those teams now? Don't know. Are they as good as Alex. on paper. Not a chance. Are they excited to be returning to the state tourney...

Re: Does anyone care about class A?

99% of what I read is geared towards AA school. :? Makes me feel like the redheaded step child. The answer is a resounding YES! Many good college players come from 1A. More than that, is many good people come from 1A schools. Many of us have lived in larger cities, including the Twin Cities. Life h...

What a score Austin! And you got the number 1 spot in sections? We all know they are overrated. Pure luck. They lose their first section game. You weren't there so don't "guess" why they didn't try to humiliate another team. Coach Bray has more class than that. Who is we? Why do you alway...
