Hoops-your LN guys were 2-6-1 against those "not tough" sections.

With "no firepower", Wayzata beat LN 6-1.

EP beat LN twice, 4-2 and 7-2

"Grinding" Burnsville beat them 6-0 and 5-4

AV has a great group of sophomores and one of the best freshman in the state. Their Sophomore goalie is outstanding. They will be contenders for the crown over the next two years unless Michealson and Fasching go to Ann Arbor. If those guys leave, AV will still be a top ten team, but only a dark hor...

Just because a piece of paper says they are the top 5 teams in the state, does not mean that they are, The "piece of paper" says Lakeville North was 1-6-1 against teams in 6AA and 2AA. Its not just the best teams getting a bad deal. Chaska/Chan beat LN 5-3 late in the season but was one a...

Remember, the fastest horse does not always win the race, but it is a good place to bet. Will AV be good in ten years? who knows? But no one who follows Minnesota Hockey should be surprised by AV's success this year. The Soph class won the state tournament as PWs and Bantams. Its not about making su...

One more thing, adamp. it is not about right now. Look at these sections for the future: 6AA EP-next year's seniors have won state championships at bantams and h.s. Tonka-Great this year. Lots of players coming back and next year's sophs are top five in bantams. Wayzata-Next years juniors won state ...

If you want to change sections so that the best teams in the state don't play each other, what are you going to do? Change the assignments every couple of years? That's retarded. They do re-assign sections every two years. It happens again this spring. This year the fix is easy and works geographic...

As the kids get into high school, most (not all) of the best players end up playing for the Blades. This is because the Blades take teams to the tournaments that USHL/college scouts go to. The Blades are the team that organizations around North America think of for Minnesota Hockey players For examp...

The objective of high school athletics is that everyone participates and that every school has the opportunity to be apart of all state tournaments. -I disagree with this. The state tournament is special. Not everyone gets to participate. But my issue is not about one weak section. The problem is th...

I did not see the play, but the refs might be right. If the puck went crossbar-goalie-net, it counts. if the puck went Crossbar-crease-then goalie knocked it in (supplied the momentum of the puck into the net,) it was dead and is no goal. The extreme example of "no goal" would be if the pu...

The ten-goal rule was in place in the 80's and it was awful. Many games ended at the close of the second period.

Let them play with a running clock in the third period. It goes by fast anyway.

Everybody is right, you are just not listening to each other very well. Who thinks its fair that seven of the top 8 teams are in two sections? The MSHSL should do everything it can to get to get the best teams while still honoring regional representation. It is not really hard to do. You can use the...

I know Kyle Rau is a junior and not eligible, but he should be Mr. Hockey. His points against EP's strength of schedule is really a great season. Bjugstad's total is also outstanding and Decowski needs some big credit, too. Other than that, these leaders all play pretty weak schedules. Will someone ...

You are both right. I was not there, but if history serves: The scrimmage was probably not played "all out" but was played with contact and all players were instructed not to be cheap or run anybody. They probably played all four lines. PP and PK were set up at designated times for each te...

50-1 Wayzata. Ep will score first, then Wayzata will take a 3-1 lead. Ep will pull its goalie and Wayzata will score 47 EN goals.

Actually, I would not bet a fortune either way. Both teams are very good. I will predict this winner goes to the State tournament.

I am really excited about section playoff hockey.

If we win Thursday, then Saturday will be wild. Then the section finals. Then the State tournament.

6AA has too many good teams, but the kids on the team that wins the section are going to have two weeks of hockey to remember forever.

Amazing!

Braemar holds about twice as many people as BIG, so I assume they would put the game in Braemar that is likely to draw the bigger crowd. My guess is you will get huge crowds for the noon and night games, somewhat less for the overlapping afternoon games. The 2 v. 3 semifinal games will be as enterta...
