Do most of you realize what you are saying? You're saying that the goalie that blanked AHA, Wayz, and M-Head in the state tourney is bad. That is just plain stupid!

Fine, Stutz isn't the most technically sound goalie in the state. And, his team played awesome defense. But, I'd say that with t...

spot on
atthepoint is spot on with this one. Goalie's need confidence like golfers do! Basically, you "think therefore you are", a confident goalie stops shots because they think they can.

Stutz had been listening to Wayz fans rip on his hair the whole period, and frankly, it was the 2nd pe...

Stutz!
This is classic. Maybe you know, but Stutz is a kid with a whole lot of confidence. Not really cocky, just confident.

Anyways, I was sitting 2 rows up behind the goal in Wayzata's student section during the Cent/Wayz game.

During the 2nd period, kids had been yelling "cut your hai...

it's a combination
I don't know all the facts, but I do know that the area Cent. serves is big on hockey. They definitely have good coaches at all levels in their youth program.

But, one reason I see as a big one, is that the area is exploding in terms of population. Four, maybe five years ago, they built a new...

5 points in the State Tournament against the top 3 rated teams in state while playing with a hernia, among other injuries is a kid who can't score points against a top rated team, huh? Wow, if you wanted a user name about lines, maybe you should have used "dontknowthegoallinefromtheblue" -...

you people need to get a clue
First of all, Gorowsky made an impact just being on the ice. Like Slappy pointed out...5 points in 3 games against the top teams in state. Pretty lame, huh? And, have any of you ever had a hernia, let alone played hockey through one? That, among other injuries, greatly slowed him down. Tom is a grea...

cent wins
After sitting in the Wayzata student section last night, I am going to have to say Centennial wins...they actually stepped up last night and started throwing their bodies around. Look for more of that against the Spuds.

Nice little anecdotes...

In the 2nd period last night, Stutz tur...

hockeygoalie is correct
I've been saying the same thing! Stutz may not be the best goalie in state, but he does what he has to for his team to win. That is what makes a goalie, his win-loss record. Wayzata can't play like they did against Tartan and expect to even score on Centennial. Centennial will dominate this one! 4-1...

BDPP, I didn't say they WERE the best ever, it's been mentioned on these boards and NOT by me. Why don't you read carefully next time. Either way, Centennial is simply better when he's on the ice.

Gorowsky made a move out of the corner, brought it in front of the net, had Olilla waiting on the other side, but had it himself. #33 (goalie's) stick wasn't on the ice, Goro put it 5-hole on him. Good goal. Then, and empty netter by Soph. Ryan Flynn with 2 seconds left to seal the deal.

Stu...

that kills me! Just drop the puck! You think they're warming up yet? We need a streaming webcam on this game, I know about the 10 second refresh POS, but we need a bonafide streamer! Well, I, along with every other Cent. fan, will have to say that it's a good thing MN Hockey Dude can't give games away. And lord knows Centennial won't give AHA anything.

In the games I've seen, Centennial's forwards just plain outwork the opposing defense. They beat them to the puck consist...

I think all in all, it's pretty hard to argue with the "player with the most points" on the "#1 ranked AA team in state" who looks to be on a beeline for the championship and can be argued as the "best team in state HS hockey history" argument (if you followed that). Oh...

Have away people, game time t-minus 236 minutes and counting.

I know the concensus is that this seems like it'll be a close game, but I don't think AHA has the goaltending to defend the offensive barrage the Cougars can and will make look routine. How's Wheeler looking, I'd love to be there to see how #17 gets all his accolades! I hear it's a combo of his size (6'4), skill, and uncommon patience that have him so highly touted. How's he skating today?

ghostfan, and everyone else, thanks for all the info. I'm not sure if he was contacted by phone or what, and I'm not sure it was Eaves himself - maybe a goalie coach? Stutz doesn't not = weakness
C'mon now Bbengal, I know Centennial's technically in Blaine, and some of the kids on the team surely live in Blaine, but quit crying because your team didn't do anything this year. Stutz is not a bad goalie, and there are many worse in "the league." Stutz makes an adequate amount of saves...

I think Bauer Vapor skates are the best, by far - sticks aren't bad either, too expensive though. Agree with Scheids, everyone has their preference.

I'm definitely NOT Steve Olson. The kids who I was talking to weren't on the team, they're Juniors at CHS and they USED to play hockey. I'm not going to mention names. Let's end this mindless discussion and get back to Centennial vs. AHA! 6-1 Centennial wins, they'll come out with more tenacity that...

Centennial goalie situation
Maybe you all don't care, but I talked with people who say Stutz would've been the back up goalie. The starter would've been a kid named Steve Olson, but he quit for reasons (speculation says drugs or alcohol, doesn't it always?) I'm not entirely sure of. Anyways, that kids mom held goalie clinics, ...
