BSM's record
BSM will always have 10 automatic wins because of their conference - but you can say the same thing about Hill Murray, Holy Angels. etc. But with a non conference schedule that is as tough as anyone's a good record is never a guarantee. I wouldn't expect someone from Skipperville to understand that

Are you kidding
Going back to 22 games is no big deal? Really? Just ask the kids and the coaches and we'll see if they have the same response. Should we hold the MSHL responsible for cashing the BIG checks from the state tourney and the section playoffs? - because those numbers are big. And when revenues dry up fro...

A good team?
"If he plays like he did against Shattuck a good team like EP should be able to take advantage. "
Are you saying that Shattuck is less of an offensive threat than EP?

Played only 3rd and 4th line?
So, you think that Shattuck just wanted to "throw" a game against a high school team? Think again on that one. Check the stats online. Shattuck had 35 shots Murry had 7 shots, Toews and Stepan had handful a of shots a piece. Are those guys on the 3rd line? yeah, right. Shattuck is still th...

"The prep team is the has only played Holy Angels, and probably only will. Sure it's a loss, but this is a different team" HSHOCKEY WATCHER HSW - What are you talking about? If you're saying that Holy Angels is the only team to play the Prep team, then you're wrong. Benilde played them yea...

Re: Gardiner
The real question is: How bad were last year's coaches when they used everybody else on the squad for penalty kill and power play except Gardiner.
Just one more thing the "NonSkipper" has gotten wrong. Gardiner quarterbacked the power play at DEFENSE ...

BSM's D
Boy, you guys see one game and you are ready to make some pretty bold predictions! If you had seen those same "D" play against Edina you wouldn't be making predictions about a non championship season. They were sloppy and bad against STA but the Cadets put the clamps on the BSM forwards ea...

The rest of the way
Benilde has only two real tough tests the rest of the way - Minnetonka and Shattuck (Osseo and Totino Grace will be ok too). But that soft conference schedule won't help them.
Red Knights are very good but so is STA. Time for them to move up to AA where they belong.

Wasted Time?
The downside of leaving early is just that. You are leaving early. To pretend that there is no cost in that decision is just to see the hockey end and nothing else. If you're a junior coach or fan that's all you care about. From a hockey standpoint no player should even think about leaving his high ...

Going Junior
No one would deny what a great league the USHL has become. But let's not shortchange the sucess of high school hockey and those kids who choose to stay with their community/high school teams. Before some of these kids decide to forgo their final season of high school hockey they best understand that...

state titles
Pauly did put together a great team of coaches at Benilde, and he's done the same thing at Minnetonka. The best coaches usually do.State Tourney appearance in 2006 for the Skippers - not bad. When is the last time Tonka had done that?

What do they want?
What is this? Orono's third coach in five years. The previous coach left under his own power and wasn't forced out, however this does make the 2nd coach of the last three that was pressured to resign. Unless it was something "big" that Ryan did, this is a road that Orono may want to rethin...

3 year contracts?
They may have had a three year "agreement" - but there is no such thing as a three year contract in high school sports. All coaches are on year contracts. Interesting on who the Red Knights will get next.

Dog games
Lopresti - Agreed. For us BSM fans it was a buzz kill for sure! But on paper many of the FSN games should have been better. (Actually, WBL and Hill was a great game early so they all haven't been bad!) Agree on the depth issue. Disagree on the score. I think Edina wins it in regulation with couple o...

tougher schedule
Snapshot, I get your point on the schedule, but there's little question that at the VERY LEAST both teams have played a very good season of teams so I just don't think there is an advantage there. As to the lines, I don't know the personnel that well BUT whenever you have a line as dominant as Tonka...

Break up Tonka's lines
Snap Shot, How can you say that Edina has had a soft schedule? Just take a look at the teams that they have played. The Coatta, Paul, Gardiner line looked like one of the best lines around. The last time these two teams played at Braemar, that line was the only line that was a factor for Minnetonka ...

"Fit to be tied"
Scoreboard33 I think I now know what you're saying about ties! I'm not sure that I agree but I'll have to give it some thought! I'm sure that Tonka was happier with the tie than Edina considering that Edina hadn't had a blemish on its record in about three months! And anytime that that you can take ...

Lucky Win?
Scoreboard33 Not sure about the tie/win thing - I'm well aware that winning is better than tying! I never said that Edina was lucky to beat Benilde. I was responding to another post that claimed that Tonka's tie was lucky. I was at the Edina/Tonka game and luck had nothing to do with the outcome. Ye...

Who is lucky?
I watched Benilde completely outplay Edina during the Schwans Cup and Edina won the game. The Hornets goalie kept Edina in that game for stretches. So who is lucky? Or, who just got it done when it counted? There were plenty of chances on both sides last night. Edina had the flurry in the third wher...

Game prediction
6-3. Tonka's goalie is slow and Benilde exposed their greatest weakness three weaks ago - their defensemen. If Edina's forwards don't have that extra jump because of three straight games, then Tonka can make this close or even win it.
Still . . . I stand by 6-3 (empty net).

First lines
Most good coaches play their top lines a lot in high school. As I stated before. The rumors of the confrontation spread through the lobby after the first period. The score was 3-2. I'm sure the emotions were running very high - but there's zero chance that they were arguing over the score after the ...

Tonka/BSM
It was good to see the Red Knights come out and put the puck in the net last night. When they get on a roll there are very few teams that they can't beat. I was at the game last night. The conflict between the coaches took place after the first period. As the score was 3-2 I highly doubt that Pauly ...
