Don't a lot of schools lose a lot of talent to private schools....relatively speaking? I guess I have been looking at the various youth rankings in LPH for years....Wayzata is always at or toward the top of everything. Yet their HS team doesn't seem to carry on that dominance. Is it just a numbers t...

WAYZATA HOCKEY

I hear this comment all the time...."Wayzata is so dominant in youth hockey...why doesn't that dominance continue at the high school level?" I do not live in the wayzata area but am wondering if there are any wayzata folks out here on this message board what your thoughts are on the subjec...

Sticks have 3 types of shafts....youth, junior and senior. Unless the mite is huge for his age, a wood stick with a youth shaft is all he needs....under 20 bucks. The bulk of your money should be spent on a great pair of skates and a top end helmet.

WayOutWest....you are right, there are several other communities who think they've got these great programs and I would suggest it's simply because of their numbers, not because they have anymore talent. Being new to D3 (orono), wayzata doesn't have a history of dominance over us....at least not yet...

Whenever Wayzata loses, I'm a happy camper. The only reason their youth program does as well as it does is numbers...period. When they get to the high school level where there are factors other than how big your association is, they just can't seem to consistently get over the hump.

I'm going with Orono in a close game despite missing persian (leg) and stickney (collarbone).....they've been here before. Semi-final game was sloppy, in my opinion, because of the small sheet (orono has olympic sheet). Although NP has the revenge factor....can't underestimate that in high school sp...

Waylon......Let me clarify. I'm not saying that ANY kid playing youth hockey has the same statistical chance of playing D1/professional as AAA kids or kids who play year round. I'm saying that if you take a standout youth hockey player who does NOT play year round but plays other sports and is a gre...

The funny thing about these kids who play year round AAA is that, statistically, they have the same small chance of playing D1/professional as the kids who don't. Every team within every level within every association within every state that has youth hockey seems to have some kid who everyone think...
