Sorry Miracle, gopherrube should have known better than post real names on here. Hope Trevor gets back on the ice soon.

Section 1AA
I have a different view on the teams in Section 1AA. I think its total BS they let the Lakeville schools play the southern Minnesota schools at the end of year. Even if they don't have the numbers to compete I like the idea of the whole state being represented at the X at the end of he year.

Big Nine Teams
Watched White Bear Lake and Century. Century is above average and that might be good enough to win a weak Big Nine. I like their goaltending and first line.

Mayo?
Does Mayo play three lines or two lines with an occasional third line to give the top two lines a break? I know the Century coach will try and find matchups they can exploit. Ex: Putting his top line out when opponent sends out their third line.

Big Nine
I drove up to Owatonna this past weekend and watched a few of the team scrimmages. Mankato East, Owatonna, Albert Lea, and Winona are very close. Austin will have a rough year again. Here is an informal assesment of what I saw. Mankato East - Probably the most consistent team I saw. They looked like...

Owatonna Scrimmages
Owatonna is hosting scrimmages this weekend. I drove up last night and watched Owatonna, Albert Lea, and New Ulm. There not keeping score, but the teams are really close. Slight edge to Owatonna.

Big 9
Faribault is getting a lot of preseason hype because this group of players have dominated the other District 4 youth programs since peewees. I know they are returning seven seniors and juniors Teske, Lipinski, Hullet, and Helgeson. Also, they have a pretty good sophmore in Parker returning. They don...

Elite II vs Northern Plains
From what I understand the Elite II teams won the majority of their games against the Northern Plains AAA teams.

Without knowing who is returning I would put them in this order.

2 Century
3 Mankato West
4 Albert Lea
5 Mayo
6 Owatonna
7 Winona
8 Mankato East
9 John Marshall
10 Austin

Elite I and Elite II
I have seen both Elite I and II. Elite I teams have 4-5 outstanding players. Elite II teams have 1-2 outstanding players per team. Both leagues have "above average High School talent". The only negative I could see is the Elite II teams have 2-3 players (mostly sophmores) who are clearly o...

New Lake Conference
Im confused? Why are other Lake schools so opposed to these 4 schools joining their conference? If I remember correctly, didn't these schools used to play in the Lake in the 90's?

Big Nine
I'm pretty familiar with the Owatonna players mentioned. Here's my take. Snorek ...very skilled player, but handles the puck way too much. Has never learned to pass the puck to teammates. Johnson ...my opinion the best overall player on next years team. Wagoner ...great skater and probably has the b...

Mayo
I thought Serratore was an average JV defenseman last year? Did Mayo lose 90% of their team?

Section 1AA
Sounds like the Mayo/Century game (Thursday) is probably for the #1 Seed in 1AA. I'm assuming the Lakeville schools will get the #2/#3 Seed. The Winona/Owatonna game (Friday) probably is for the #5 Seed.

Outside Looking In
I'm semi-familiar with the parties involved. In my opinion , I think all these players should have stayed in Austin. These fathers have unrealistic expectations of their sons. I'm not going to name names, but all of these former Austin players are only average at best. Its my understanding if you tr...

Big Nine/1AA
I posted this last year and I'm sure I'll post this again next year. I LOVE the fact that the WHOLE State is represented at the State Tournament. Infact I wish the Lakeville schools were excluded from Section 1AA. We all know the State Tournament is not the top eight schools in the State. Even if th...

Bronze Championship
Mahtomedi 5 Owatonna 4 *That Marshall kid is green, but he can fly with good hands. Mahtomedi just had a couple of speedsters that Owatonna couldn't handle. I thought Owatonna was gritty, but just had WAY too many turnovers. I think once Coach Fish see's the tape he will stress to his top players to...

Century jumped out to an early 3-0 lead before Owatonna would rally and tie it up at 4-4. Century scored a late goal to win it.

Faribault at Owatonna
Faribault will be a slight favorite with Owatonna's top defenseman out. I'm guessing both teams will play a lot of players since this game does not count in the Big Nine Standings
