This memorandum has been sent on to all District 16 associations. Thank you Elliott for forwarding. We are looking to manage this from within and will control our players. Controversial, and maybe fodder for another thread is rule change. This is something MN Hockey and USA Hockey can do. Someone s...

A - Chisago Lakes, Princeton, Spring Lake Park, Rogers, Irondale, Cambridge, Coon Rapids Confused. Rogers, SLP and Irondale are AA high schools. Do any of the other youth associations you've suggested will play at the A level primarily feed a AA high school? Did they petition down? Now you'll have ...

Look at D10, PWA - Elk River is now tied for #1 when it should have been locked in. Irondale lost their chance at playoffs from the FP points. My only beef with it is the lack of inconsistencies in the refs. Some allow it to get a little chippy, others don't allow anything to fly by. Hard for the ki...

The guy gave a couple of hour+ camps last year in my city. He makes the kids work.....worth the money NO, I figure he cleared about $1000 for four hours of work. There are many good coaches out there, bottomline is it's the kids ability to learn and perform. A kid in our association has been a memb...

I believe one of the 97 goalies for Fire is a girl. Does that mean that the boys don't shoot as hard on her? Doubt it. If they're good enough to make the team, let them play. That being said, not sure I would let or want my daughter playing with the boys when the game gets to a rough level. To each ...

Well said, the kids shouldn't care. My kid used to complain about the back rinks at Schwans. I quickly reminded him of how lucky he is to be suffering at such a great place. He realized what he said and now he doesn't complain. Parents shouldn't be complaining either in my opinion. We have the best ...

Best Advice - Get your kid in town for some summer camps or lessons with a goalie coach. I agree with the ealier post, Zach at PHT is great. Not only will he help your kid as a goaltender, but he'll talk to you about schools and where a good fit may be. Plus, he's just an all around great guy that i...

What part of town will you be working in? The traffic up here can be pretty rough. You wouldn't want to drive across town everyday because you picked a city for hockey. Give us an idea what part of the cities you'll be working in and then narrow it down from there. Moving a goalie in at that age can...

The fact that your kid's face lit up about the jacket confirms what Muck said. They're more excited about things like that then the rankings. They're 9, that's what they should get excited about. I don't think it's wrong to support your kid by wearing team attire, but as your kids get older they rea...

My bad.
My kid is a goalie, he doesn't even wear the socks. However, his goalie coach is great, I know he doesn't work for free. If you don't want to pay, don't have your kid play. It's pretty simple.[/quote]

You need to add the salaries for the coaches, jerseys/socks. Plus, it's a business, so they want to make some money too. I'm not saying that I agree with the cost, but it's not just ice & tournaments either. Hopefully you end up in a good program that makes the money worth it and your kid has fu...
