Re: Michael Shiborowski commits to the U
Former Benilde goalie to play for Gophers Article in the Strib stated he "committed". Is "committing" different from "signing". Will Shibrowski sign on with a ride, or is he committing to coming there on his own nickel and walking on? Just trying to get clarity on term...

Was Lettieri deserving making the team this year? Didn't make it last year which really has no bearing. If, he improved that much congrats to him, but makes you wonder if the Grandpa had any influence on the outcome since he was not rostered last year and was cut in early stages Lettieri led Minnet...

Dugas and Parker were both alternates to Nationals last year. Dugas did not go to New York. I believe Parker also played one year for the Blades, otherwise was goalie for the Lake Superior Stars. I agree resume speaks a lot for players but you still have to perform well at the tryouts or why have t...

Good question. The Kautz move to the NAHL was a two edged sword. If he performed, his stock would rise and maybe the next year he would be a NA starter or a US backup. He didn't put up the numbers and didn't get the time. Now he may be in a little limbo - will the new Texas owners hold on to him, le...

All of this is why many parents are finding AAA hockey a preferred option. You write your check. Your kid makes friends with kids from all over. Parents that complain find their kid doesn't have a spot the next year. Kids that are trouble don't get called back. Kids that don't like their teammates c...

Re: Stats
Thanks for the clarification Fonzie... Sorry, I'm not 'Fonzie' or one of his relatives. The Fonzie I knew 'jumped the shark' back in the late 70's: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDthMGtZKa4 More dramatic than a well executed two pad stack or a bar down snipe! My point remains - be wary of any Inte...

Wow, what happened to Fons that game? Don't totally trust pointstreak stats. Fons could've had 50 shots and the book person was asleep. They should almost have stat sheets verified and signed by coaches (who check with their players) if they are going to post them on the Internet. Time and again yo...

I don't think Arentz is coming back to Lakeville North. Things change but the rumor is he's headed for Victory honda or another junior team. I agree that he is also deserving of a spot on one of the teams. Not a rumor. Arentz will skate for Victory Honda in 2010-2011. He leaves in August. That's wh...

Re: 6AA players
This was not BSM's year. I would put Lucia, Frawley and Schutt in as fwds b4 Patterson. For goalies, Ford or Krueger b4 Meyers (he gave up 5 to Hopkins in the quarters). its not meyers fault for his bad stats this year he had a bad team in front of him The 51, Fons and Wilcox had much, much weaker ...

Re: So. St. Paul Concerns
1st time poster, long time reader. I have been to alot of Packer games this year and being a former player I have some concerns about what I see going on in this program. I know they are young but they have alot of talent. But the talent is hurting the team by taking stupid, stupid penalties. That ...

Pauly was put into a tough position. He has to protect his team. What do you do when the other team is out to hurt your players? When the ref blows the whistle, it's too late. At least in the pro game, fighting takes care of this BS. SLP has some nice players and a few bad apples. The same bad appl...

I definitely was embarassed to be a panther fan when I saw that. Some of the boys tried to play to the crowd and got thrown out for being too emotional. I saw Pauly lose it and I heard from one of the kids that he was threatening a player from SLP? Real classy on his part.. Dude, I would have lost ...

Wandered over from the Elk River/Blaine game next door. This game wasn't even close. What I saw in the 3rd was BSM wasn't even playing many of their 1st and 2nd line guys to prevent injury. Word was that SLP was chippy and once the game was out of hand it wasn't worth risking key players. Three SLP ...
