I heard that there is a senior female goalie starting for the Armstrong Boys Varsity team. Can anyone confirm that? And will she be in contention for top 10 girl goalie honors?

I have had both my daughters play this. One was on a "B" Team that won the whole tourney and one that was on a "B" team that lost every game. Both recieved interests from college teams after playing.

Is there a schedule and a roster list out yet? Junior Fest is what your daughter makes of it. If you are worried about the money, you shouldn't be doing it. But, if you want your daughter to play in a fun tournament and be exposed to potential college opportunities. Go for it. I know my daughter pla...

I agree with Royals Dad, I know of at least one goalie from last year could played Division 1 hockey for some teams out east. She opted for a Division3 school that was closer to home. She did not want to go far away. She picked a school where they had what she wanted as far as her education goes.

Section 5aa has been a very tight section for the past couple of years. Last year the game between Centennial and Anoka went 5 overtimes. The game started at 8 p.m. and ended at 12:05 a.m. Anoka won 2-1. Both Goalies played outstanding as saves were 60-59. This year it looks like it is happening aga...

Anoka over Centennial 2-1 in 4 overtimes. Shots were 63 to 60. Thats what you get with 2 goalies of the top ten senior goalies in the state play against each other.

Speaking of stats, If a goalie makes a save and the puck is laying on the side of her pad and an opponent slaps at that, isn't that considered another shot?

I have seen this where it has been called a shot and where it hasn't.

I think this will be Coon Rapids year, it will be Bona's senior year and she has a lot of talented seniors that have played varsity hockey with her the last 5 years. I look for Anoka to be a dominate force in the next couple of years as the have a lot of young talent.

Beaver Pride won the U-19 over the Schwan's Blues. I think Montana Vichorek was named the most valuable player of the tourney. She has a very lethal shot. Congrats to the Beavers. This maybe the last year for the Blues, Thanks to Coaches JB, Beatle and Bell. My daughter and family has had a blast ov...

My daughter played in the Junior Fest and had a blast. Granted she was selected for the B pool and she went in knowing that she would most likely not get any looks by Division I schools, but that did not bother her. However, she went in with the additude that playing hockey in college would be fun a...

Anoka is a very young team with very few players that have had playoff experience. They gave up 3 goals very early in the game. ( Unfortunately 2 of the goals were accidently knocked in by own defenders). Coach called a time out to calm the girls down. They Then played a much closer game. I am looki...

Great job having 7or8 shut outs in a row. That is a tough feat no matter how many shots she faced. Sometimes facing just a few shots is tougher than facing many shots. Sometimes when a goalie hasn't seen many shots they tend to get stiff and can lose focus.
