Wow, must be your 1st kid in hockey. Don't break your arm patting yourself on the back about your kids team. Does it really matter what anyone thinks about your son's team.

I think its best to not focus on the physical part of the but try get them fired up about just playing the game. Challenge them to see how many times they can win the battles and steal them puck from the otehr team.
Not even mentioning hitting or checking.
They will figure it out.

Elliot, So A person can put a tier I or II team together and try for nationals? So could they play the games in the fall and spring to get their games in and still play association hockey in the winter. If it was tier I wouldn't they have to play off against SSM to see who goes on to nationals. But ...

Adam Knochenmus- Roseau is a solid choice. You can't pick just one kid, there are very good players in every section.

Would love an update. Not a whole lot got discussed by the time we got to this committee... So another me...

I don't agree with GR3343 regarding checking in Squirts, unless it is only in the defensive end that would give the kids a nice progession into checking. I agree Pee Wee (especially 1st yr) kids don't know how to check but I don't think they are being taught. what ever age if they don't get the inst...

Thanks Elliott it does seem like a big age difference especially at the pee wee level. you could have 5th graders playing 8th graders. But i guess it would be the same if you took 2 birth years and put them together.

It may not be popular, but I side with the "DOGS" formula for development. Give me a kid from up north, Roseau or where ever, any day. The kids learn to love the game and develop at their own pace. It doesn't matter how big a kid is at what level, they all learn to love the game and develo...
